Good finds, slow shipping

I ordered a few yards of Linen Fabric and a Mystery Bundle last month. The fabric quality was really good, especially for deadstock. Prices were fair, felt like a good value. Shipping took about 8 days to reach me in California, which felt a bit long. I wish they'd offer a quicker shipping option, even if it cost a little more. Overall, a positive experience for finding unique materials.

Reliable source for fabric

This was my third time ordering from FABSCRAP. I got some Velvet Fabric and a few packs of buttons. Just like my previous orders, the items were exactly as described and the quality was consistent. It's great knowing I can count on them for interesting scraps and trim. Shipping was pretty standard, arrived within a week. They're my go-to for unique project materials now.

Can I use multiple coupon codes if I have, say, a student discount and also a newsletter signup code?

L Lisa 1 month ago
Nah, usually with online stores you can only use one code per order. FABSCRAP is probably the same.

K Kevin Torres 1 month ago
I tried that once, it didn't work. Most places only let you stack certain types of discounts, and FABSCRAP usually limits it to just one promo code per purchase.

Does FABSCRAP offer any kind of discount for students? Like if I have a student ID, can I get a percentage off?

J Julia G. 2 months ago
Yeah, they do have a student discount! You usually have to verify your student status through some portal to get a code.

Definitely. I got one last semester, it was 15% off I think? Just check their site for how to apply for it, it's pretty straightforward.

What's the deal with shipping costs for fabric? I'm in LA, wondering if it's going to be super expensive.

A Alex H. 2 months ago
Shipping depends on weight and your location, but they use standard rates. For a few yards, it's usually reasonable. If you're buying a huge amount, it can add up.

I'm in California too, and for a small order, it wasn't too bad. They calculate it at checkout, so you can see before you commit.

I'm looking at some of their synthetic fabric, but I'm worried it might have some weird smell or something. Are their fabrics generally clean?

N Nick 2 months ago
Everything I've ever gotten from FABSCRAP has been super clean, no weird smells or anything. It's all designer deadstock so it's usually high quality to begin with.

Yeah, they're pretty good about that. I've ordered a bunch of different types, including synthetics, and never had an issue. It's not like buying from a dusty thrift store.

Thinking of getting some fabric by the yard. How do they measure it out? Is it always continuous cuts or what?

S Shane 2 months ago
From my experience, if you order multiple yards of the same fabric, they try to send it as one continuous piece. But with deadstock, sometimes pieces are just whatever length they got. They list it pretty clearly though.

G Greg Z. 1 month ago
They usually specify if it's not a continuous piece. Most of the by-the-yard stuff I've ordered has been one long cut unless it's a remnant. The scrap packs are obviously all bits and pieces.

Hey, wondering how often FABSCRAP puts new stuff online? I keep checking but it's hard to tell if I just missed something good.

C Cody Kim 1 month ago
I think it's pretty regular, like every week or so they drop new inventory. Best to follow their Instagram or newsletter, they usually announce it there.

R Raj Y. 1 month ago
Yeah, I've noticed they add new fabrics pretty frequently. Especially the unique designer deadstock. If you're looking for something specific, check often or sign up for their emails, they'll usually give a heads up.

Has anyone ever had to return fabric to FABSCRAP? What's their return policy like? Is it a hassle?

O Omar 2 months ago
I haven't personally returned fabric, but their policy states that all fabric sales are final. They do say if there's a defect you should contact them.

J James V. 2 months ago
Yeah, I think for fabric itself, returns aren't really an option unless there was a big mistake on their end. It's usually final sale. Just double check before you buy!

Is the fabric from FABSCRAP pre-washed? Or do I need to wash everything before I use it for a project?

M Mia 2 months ago
It's not pre-washed, no. It's deadstock, so it comes as is from the designers. You'll definitely want to wash it like you would any new fabric before cutting.
2
M Mark 2 months ago
Nope, assume it's not pre-washed. Always wash your fabric before using it, especially if you're mixing it with other materials, to avoid shrinkage issues later.
